Project Overview
Bull Bitcoin is a real, live Canadian, non-custodial Bitcoin-only exchange and OTC desk founded by Francis Pouliot — built on one premise: you hold your own keys, always. As part of a small freelance product design team, we contributed to the full product system: onboarding, home, send, receive, swap and settings, across iOS and Android.
Problem
Self-custody carries more friction than a typical exchange — every screen had to carry someone through unfamiliar territory (seed phrases, choosing between on-chain, Lightning and Liquid transfers) without losing them at the first unfamiliar step.
Research
Mapped every real flow the app needed to support — first-time setup and PIN security, swapping between on-chain Bitcoin, Lightning and Liquid, wallet recovery — before a single screen was drawn.
Solution
Contributed to a complete design system spanning onboarding, home, send/receive across three Bitcoin layers, swap flows, wallet recovery and settings — plus the brand identity and app icon that carry it.
Impact
Live on the App Store and Google Play with a 5.0-star rating on both — reviewers calling it "the absolute best bitcoin wallet" they've used.
